Up and running in under a minute
Three steps, no account and no desktop software. If anything goes wrong, the troubleshooting section below covers the usual causes.

Open the store listing
Click the install button to open Vidow in the Chrome Web Store. The same listing works for Edge, Brave, Opera and Vivaldi.

Add it to your browser
Click Add to Chrome, then confirm the permissions prompt. Vidow needs access to the page you're on so it can find the video streams behind it.

Pin it to the toolbar
Click the puzzle-piece icon next to the address bar and pin Vidow. When the icon is visible, its badge shows you when a page has something to save.

Once it's installed
Open any page with a video
Let the player load, or press play for a second. Vidow picks up the streams as the page requests them.
Watch for the badge
A number on the Vidow icon shows how many videos it found on the current tab.
Click, choose, save
Open the popup, pick a quality or audio only, and the file goes straight to your computer.
Troubleshooting
If something goes wrong
The Vidow icon isn't showing up
It's probably hidden in the extensions menu. Click the puzzle-piece icon to the right of the address bar and pin Vidow so it stays on the toolbar.
The icon is there, but no video is detected
Press play for a second and check again, since many players only request the stream after playback starts. Reloading the page can also help, because Vidow needs to see the network requests as they happen.
How do I install it on Edge, Brave or Opera?
Open the Chrome Web Store listing in that browser. Edge shows a banner asking you to allow extensions from other stores, so accept it. Brave, Opera and Vivaldi can install Chrome extensions directly.
My work computer blocks the installation
Company-managed computers often limit which extensions you can install. Ask your IT administrator to allow Vidow, or install it on a personal computer instead.
